Lyrics

Dreaming

Dreaming
Paint a picture
Hang it on the wall
Admire it every day
Show the neighbours how well you create
A work of art
But they don’t have to know
Or understand the layers upon the page
And they don’t have to see
The dreams that made
The picture on the wall
Hold the music
Listen to a song
Play it every day
Show the neighbours how you know the tune
Make it your own
But they don’t have to know
Or understand the notes upon the page
And they don’t have to see
The dreams that made
The music in your heart

Love the children
Take them in your arms
Hold them every day
Show the neighbours how well you relate
To their every need
But they don’t have to know
Or understand the spirit in your soul
And they don’t have to see
The dreams that kept
The child alive in you

I need you

Hold that thought
Keep it in your heart for now
Let it grow
Nourish with love somehow
Is it there?
Can you feel it in your heart and soul?
Keep it safe, don’t let anyone
Take your mind at all

For I don’t know when I might need you
I need you now

Play with joy
Let the future come with ease my child
For we know that the past can be
Just a state of mind
Smile for me
Show the light within your eyes my love
Keep it safe with a perfect heart
Sing it from above

For I don’t know when I might need you
Oh
I need you now

Lunchtime

Phone me tomorrow at lunchtime
Call me and tell me you are mine
See me I’ll smile when you’re around
Because you know me
And the others don’t matter now

Most people think that I’m a clown
They see a side that suits me fine
But then you look at me
Across a room
And my heart it just melts down
Cause you know it and
You love the me inside

(refrain)
I think I want to make myself clear now
And tell the world just how I feel right now
If it’s a sin
Then let the heavens strike me down

Because I love you
And I’ll phone you at lunchtime
I’ll call you
And tell you you are mine
Oh I see you
You smile when I’m around
Because you know me and
The others don’t matter now

Time

Where has time gone?
Where does she go?
With the wind to the hills
and the mountains and lakes
Or does she melt with
The wind in the snow?

Does her heart beat like mine?
If she has one that is
Or is Mind all she feels and desires?
We can see, feel and smell her
every day without fail,
But to hold her yet; we are denied.

Time? What are you to me?
Both a gift and a curse
I suppose I think when youʼre around,
And yet, when you move on to the skies and the wind
Every second I feel you surround
Me with memories, feelings of joy, hope and loss
Not to mention how that list goes on
Then you change to a memory for me alone
Some are painful but some make me strong.

What makes you? Is it us who inhabit this world
Is it you who decides whatʼs to be?
Or could there be a chance that itʼs all down to us
Everyone involved, including me..

If itʼs you, what can I do? I canʼt change the past
And the present is chance, nothing more
But that canʼt be the truth, cause I change my mind
Left right and centre, thatʼs definitely for sure.

So Time? Maybe you do belong to us all?
But only for the blink of an eye
And when opened again, youʼre the same, yet different –
And so many of us donʼt say goodbye.

So this is what I think in my little head
Youʼre my Time, but only for right now
And I wonʼt waste you by constantly saying goodbye
Itʼs hello, and welcome to the now.
