Due to the fact that Majella couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery, Majella’s new single’lunchtime’ will be available for download NEXT FRIDAY, Jan 17th, 2017.
She’s back. Skateboard slinging, odd shoes donning and promised a permanent bed in a lock-up ward by the age of thirty. But she’s a singer and a poet. With her mind stabilised again, for the first time in nearly seven years she has re-recorded ‘lunchtime’ and is releasing it tomorrow on iTunes… Friday.
What’s it like? It’s like being mental and knowing it…. A total pain in the arse she says. But often knowing it too late.
‘Lunchtime’ is a beautiful simple ballad written about a girl who falls in love over the phone. ‘if you want to know more just listen to the song’ she tells me as we sup our tea in front of the fire, with two of her dogs jumping all over my new skirt an blouse.
Oblivious to the fact that I don’t like dogs on my lap, she smiles from ear to ear taking pictures of me and Columbo (her Coton de Tulear from Madagascar) and she fixes the headphones over my ears so I can listen to her new song.
I like it. I like that she likes it. My main prayer is that Majella will find happiness.
‘I love ya to bits’ I tell her.
‘And I love you even more Mammy’.
We sup our tea.
